Commercial moonshine can vary from unaged whiskey to flavored products with very different proofs. Most service problems occur when staff treat the category as one uniform drink or use its high-proof reputation as entertainment.
Problem: guests do not understand the bottle
Fix: List the producer, flavor and proof where practical. Explain whether the product is an unaged spirit or a flavored specialty. Never serve homemade or unverified alcohol.
Problem: pours are inconsistent
Fix: Use a jigger and an approved recipe. High-proof products need particularly careful measurement. Do not offer drinking challenges or oversized samples.
Problem: cocktails taste harsh or overly sweet
Fix: Test the drink with the exact product. Use citrus, tea, ginger, soda or another mixer that balances the flavor, and adjust dilution before the event.
Problem: bottles are left for self-service
Fix: Keep alcohol behind a staffed bar. Confirm venue rules and use licensed service when required. Sealed bottles should not be handed out as casual workplace favors without an opt-in process.
Problem: non-drinkers feel excluded
Fix: Put a complete alcohol-free drink on the same menu and serve it with comparable care. Workplace participation must remain optional.
Problem: the product runs low
Fix: remove the drink from the menu, protect remaining stock for approved serves and use a preselected substitute only after communicating the change.
