Spirit Works Sloe Gin 750ml

Product Description

Spirit Works Sloe Gin: A Marshall Family Tradition

Spirit Works Sloe Gin follows a recipe handed down through the Marshall family for generations, produced at Spirit Works Distillery, the grain-to-glass operation founded in Sebastopol, California by husband-and-wife team Timo and Ashby Marshall. This award-winning, vibrantly hued liqueur has earned real recognition, including a Silver medal at the Bartender Spirits Awards, reflecting the same from-scratch craftsmanship the distillery applies across its entire lineup.

How Spirit Works Sloe Gin Is Made

Every batch starts with Spirit Works' own dry gin, a wheat-based spirit built on juniper, orris and angelica roots, cardamom, coriander, orange and lemon peels, and hibiscus. That gin is then macerated with whole organic sloe berries imported from Europe, a relative of the plum, until the fruit's flavor and deep crimson color fully release into the spirit. It's bottled at 27% ABV (54 proof).

Tasting Notes

Nose: Pomegranate and cranberry, with a clear character of mellow sloe berries.

Palate: Ripe sweetness balanced by fresh acidity and sour cherry, fruity and full-bodied.

Finish: Dry and tannic, with slight almond notes and a long, fresh fruitiness.

Food Pairings

Spirit Works Sloe Gin's cranberry and sour cherry character pairs well with roasted duck, a cheese board with dried fruit, or a dark chocolate tart. Its tannic almond finish also complements roasted nuts or a charcuterie spread.

Serving Suggestions

Spirit Works Sloe Gin is delicious sipped on its own, or used as a replacement for sweet vermouth in any cocktail. It also makes a splendid addition to a gin and tonic for a fruit-forward twist on the classic.
