Only 10 barrels are hand-selected by the distillery's master distiller for each small-batch release, making it a genuinely limited handcrafted whisky rather than a standard production run.

How George Dickel Barrel Select Is Made

This whisky is crafted from a mash bill of 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley, fermented and double-distilled through both a column still and a copper pot still. It's then aged 10 to 12 years in charred oak barrels before undergoing the traditional Lincoln County Process, chill-charcoal mellowing through sugar maple charcoal, a defining step in genuine Tennessee whisky production. That extended aging combined with careful barrel selection has earned it multiple Gold Medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and a 95-point score from Wine Enthusiast in 2019. It's bottled at 43% ABV.
