High West Campfire is a blend of straight rye whiskey, straight bourbon whiskey, and blended malt Scotch whisky, and the brand calls it the only blend of its kind. The idea came from David Perkins, who found that melon and sweet smoke worked well together and wondered, “why not mix sweet bourbon and peat?” The main flavor is sweet honey from a ripe bourbon, the harmony is floral, fruity spice from a mature rye, and the accent is smoke from a peated Scotch. It’s bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV), non-chill-filtered, with no flavor added, and it’s aged in charred white American oak and second-use bourbon barrels.

High West describes Campfire as its ode to starry nights around the fire with friends. The components range from four to eight years old, and the whiskeys are blended in Park City, Utah.
