High West Bourbon Whiskey: A 92 Proof Blend of Straight Bourbons from Park City, Utah

High West Bourbon, formerly sold as American Prairie Bourbon, is a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys, aged a minimum of two years in new charred white American oak and blended by High West in Park City, Utah. It uses a variety of mash bills, including high-rye recipes, for an earthy complexity with a bit of spice. It’s bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV) and is never chill-filtered or carbon-treated. High West calls it blended to be “your tried and true,” a good sipper and a thoughtful person’s whiskey that also works in cocktails.

The blend is sourced. One component is an MGP bourbon with a 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% barley malt mash bill, and another is 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley from an undisclosed source. High West says other components are undisclosed. For each bottle sold, High West donates a portion of its after-tax profits to the American Prairie Reserve, a wildlife conservation project in Montana.
