Winner of the International Spirits Challenge silver medal award in 2013 and the Silver Outstanding medal award in the International Wind and Spirit Competition in 2012, Glenfiddich Rich Oak has been twice finished. First is is patiently matured spending 14 years in American and Spanish Oak casks after which it is finished further for up to 12 weeks in virgin oak casks. Alive with flavor, the new wood interacts rapidly with the whisky and is watched with meticulous attention.

The result is a rich and warm golden hued spirit that delivers an extraordinarily complex bouquet. Rich Oak 14 year old is fresh and fruity; piquant spicy oak notes are laced through with abundant ripe summer fruit. The scent of vanilla is vibrant and intense; sweet raisins, toffee and caramelized fruit providing a blissful aroma crescendo.

The taste experience is just as rich and powerful, there is such depth and intensity. Soft vanilla wraps silkily around copious layers of dark fruit, the flavor experience builds becoming ever deeper and more sophisticated. There is a subtle and delightful oaky nuttiness in the background. The finish just like the experience is enduring, the flavors lingering warm and spicy on the palate.

TASTING NOTES

Nose:
Vibrant vanilla notes, hints of citrus, caramelized brown sugar and cinnamon. Baked apple and ripe summer fruits and balanced with the rich oaky aromas.

Taste:
Beautifully rich and sweet with layers of creamy toffee, woody spices, candied orange peel and fresh toasted oak
