Cotswolds Founder's Choice Cask Strength Batch #960 is a batch-specific release from the distillery’s Founder’s Choice range. It is made from locally grown, traditionally floor-malted Cotswolds barley and matured entirely in STR ex-red-wine barriques.

STR means shaved, toasted, and re-charred, a cask treatment developed by the late whisky consultant Dr. Jim Swan. It rejuvenates used wine barrels and intensifies their interaction with the spirit, producing concentrated red fruit, chocolate, toffee, spice, and deep natural color. Batch #960 is bottled at 60.5% ABV, non-chill-filtered, and without added color.

Nose: Dry hay, cut wood, dark chocolate, dried figs, and plums in syrup. Palate: Warming cereal, toast, fresh red fruit, butterscotch, and rich malt. Finish: Spicy oak, dried fruit, and a lingering nutty dryness.
