Botanist Cask Rested Gin: 22 Islay Botanicals Rested in a Cuvée of Oak Casks

Botanist Cask Rested Gin takes The Botanist Islay Dry Gin and matures it for a minimum of six months in a cuvée assembled from approximately 16 different cask types. The casks come from Bruichladdich’s Islay warehouses and include European and American oak.

The original gin’s 22 hand-foraged Islay botanicals remain central, while short cask resting adds sweet oak, citrus-fruit depth, vanilla, and warm spice without turning the spirit into whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Juniper, citrus, meadow herbs, vanilla, and light oak. Palate: Sweet wood, lemon peel, floral botanicals, baking spice, and a rounded texture. Finish: Dry and aromatic, with citrus, herbs, vanilla, and gentle oak.

Food Pairings

Pair with smoked salmon, roast chicken, charcuterie, aged cheese, citrus salads, or shortbread.
