Balcones Brimstone Whisky is a 106-proof Texas corn whisky distinguished by an unconventional smoke process. Rather than drying malt over peat before fermentation, Balcones applies smoke from sun-baked Texas scrub oak to the mature blue-corn whisky through a proprietary method.

The result is markedly different from peated Scotch. The smoke can suggest barbecue pit, charred wood, sweet tea, corn husk, tobacco and chile, with a dense, savory character that divides opinion but is rarely mistaken for another bottle.
