The Glenlivet 12 Year Old Provence Edition is the second release in the distillery's Beyond Speyside collection, following the inaugural Jamaica Edition. Where that release looked to the Caribbean, this one turns to the South of France, marking the first-ever use of French white wine casks in a Glenlivet expression. Created under the guidance of Cask Master Kevin Balmforth, the whisky earned a Gold medal at the 2026 Scotch Whisky Masters and a 91-point score from Whisky Advocate.

How Provence Edition Is Made

This whisky starts with the familiar base of Glenlivet 12 Year, aged in a mix of American and European oak. A portion is then finished in a select combination of three French wine casks from the Provence region: Côtes de Provence white wine casks from Château Sainte Marguerite, a cru classé vineyard known for its whites and rosés, contributing bright citrus and floral character; Rivesaltes casks, genuinely rare in Scotch maturation and previously used by only a handful of distilleries, adding rich orchard fruit and gentle spice; and Sauternes casks, lending honeyed sweetness and depth. It's bottled at 40% ABV.
