Widow Jane The Vaults Bourbon: An Annual Release of the Distillery’s Oldest and Rarest Bourbons

The Vaults is Widow Jane’s annual limited edition, a blend of the distillery’s oldest and rarest straight bourbons, selected from the stocks rested in its Red Hook, Brooklyn rickhouse. Each release marries bourbons aged 14 years or more (the oldest around 19 to 20 years), sourced from Tennessee and Indiana, and then re-barrels the blend in new oak raised from staves that have been air-seasoned for far longer than usual. A different wood is used every year, harvested from a different region, so every Vaults is a one-time expression. It’s proofed with pure limestone mineral water from the Rosendale Mines in upstate New York, non-chill filtered, and bottled at 99 proof (49.5% ABV).

It’s released each October in small numbers (the 2022 release was about 12,000 bottles), which makes it a collector’s bottle. Check the label on the bottle you receive for the exact release year, age statement, and finishing wood.
