Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon is the whiskey that started it all, the first single barrel bourbon ever sold commercially, introduced by Buffalo Trace in 1984 under legendary master distiller Elmer T. Lee. Every bottle is drawn from the center-cut sections of the famous Warehouse H, the exact section Colonel Albert Blanton himself identified as the best for aging bourbon at his distillery decades earlier.

Albert Bacon Blanton was born in 1881 just outside Frankfort, Kentucky, and began his career at the Old Fire Copper Distillery as a sixteen-year-old office boy. He worked his way through every department, was named superintendent at just twenty, and eventually served as company president from 1921 until his retirement in 1952, expanding the distillery from 44 to 144 buildings along the way. During his tenure, Colonel Blanton created a special, limited private reserve of bourbon for himself, family, friends, and visiting dignitaries, handpicked and stored in what's now known as Warehouse H. This bottle carries his name and legacy forward, still aged in that same storied section of the warehouse today.

Distilled from Buffalo Trace's high-rye mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley, Blanton's Single Barrel delivers the fruit and spice character that high-rye bourbons are known for, playing beautifully against caramel and char from the barrel.
