Before Prohibition, Maryland held roughly a third of America's entire rye whiskey supply, a proud tradition that vanished when the state's distilleries converted to ethanol production during World War II and never came back. Sagamore Spirit was founded in 2013 by Kevin Plank, executive chairman of Under Armour, with a mission to put Maryland back on the map as a premier rye-producing state. Signature Straight Rye, first released in 2016, is where that revival began, and remains the brand's flagship expression today.

Signature Rye is a thoughtful blend of two straight rye mash bills, aged 4 to 6 years in high-char American oak barrels.
