Kentucky Owl The Wiseman is a blend of four Kentucky straight bourbons, selected for their individual taste and contribution and bottled at 90.8 proof (45.4% ABV). Per reviewers and retailers, the blend combines Kentucky Owl’s own 4-year-old wheated bourbon and 4-year-old high-rye bourbon, contract-distilled with Bardstown Bourbon Company in Bardstown, Kentucky, with 5.5-year and 8.5-year-old Kentucky-sourced bourbons. Pairing wheated softness with high-rye spice is the key to its balance. It has no age statement. It launched in September 2021 as the brand’s first new bourbon since 2019.

Kentucky Owl traces its roots to 1879, when C.M. Dedman’s distillery on the banks of the Kentucky River produced what it called “The Wise Man’s Bourbon.” The family brought the brand back over a century later.
