The classic Mint Julep
Woodford Reserve’s official recipe uses bourbon, simple syrup, fresh mint and crushed ice. Express the mint gently rather than tearing it into the drink, add bourbon and syrup, then pack the glass with crushed ice. Fresh mint and cold service matter more than excessive garnish.
The Woodford Spire
Woodford Reserve also presents the Woodford Spire as an official Derby cocktail. It combines bourbon, lemonade and cranberry juice, making it easier to serve to a group than a julep that requires crushed ice and fresh mint for every glass.

Batching tips
Pre-mix noncarbonated ingredients and keep them chilled, but add fresh mint, ice and carbonated components at service. Do not leave a large open batch unattended, and keep a written recipe with every container.
