Product Description
Hayman's London Dry Gin: 160 Years of Family Craft
Hayman's London Dry Gin traces back to 1863 and the great-great-grandfather of current owners James and Miranda Hayman, making this one of the oldest continuously operating gin families in London. Five generations later, the Hayman family still uses the same techniques and original recipe passed down through the decades, and the brand is widely credited as one of the pioneers of the London Dry style itself. Company founder James Burrough, an ancestor of current chairman Christopher Hayman, also went on to create the world-renowned Beefeater Gin.
How Hayman's London Dry Gin Is Made
This gin is distilled from a blend of 10 classic botanicals, juniper, coriander seed, orris root, angelica root, licorice root, orange peel, lemon peel, cassia bark, Ceylon cinnamon, and nutmeg, macerated for a full 24 hours before distillation in small copper pot stills. That traditional two-day process, unchanged for over 150 years, is central to what makes Hayman's taste the way it does. It's bottled at 41.2% ABV.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Fresh and vibrant, with dominant juniper, citrus zest, and subtle floral undertones.
Palate: Crisp and balanced, with bold juniper upfront, followed by coriander, lemon peel, and earthy spice.
Finish: Clean and refreshing, with lingering botanicals and a slight peppery warmth.
Food Pairings
The citrus and juniper character in Hayman's London Dry Gin pairs well with fresh oysters, a citrus-cured ceviche, or a light herb-roasted chicken. Its warm spice notes also complement a charcuterie board.
Serving Suggestions
Hayman's London Dry Gin is a natural fit for a classic Gin and Tonic garnished with lemon peel, and it holds up equally well in a Martini or Negroni thanks to its balanced, traditional profile.
