How D'USSÉ XO Is Made

This cognac is crafted from meticulously hand-selected eaux-de-vie, naturally aged a minimum of ten years, well past the six-year minimum required for the XO designation in France. The eaux-de-vie rest in the Château de Cognac's centuries-old cellars, where Casavecchia blends selections from both humid, river-adjacent cellars, which draw out floral smoothness, and drier cellars higher up, which contribute woodier, spicier character. That extended aging and careful cellar blending are what give D'USSÉ XO its signature richness and complexity. It's bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).

Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich, warm, and highly aromatic, with matured French oak, dark roasted coffee, caramel, vanilla, clove, and dried violet blossom.

Palate: Ripe blackberry and apricot, layered with dark chocolate and walnut.

Finish: Exceptionally long, balanced, and dry, trailing off into baking spice, cocoa nibs, black pepper, and a whisper of tobacco.
