Nikka Yoichi Single Malt Japanese Whisky
Nikka Yoichi Single Malt Japanese Whisky is a range of single malt expressions from the Yoichi Distillery, Nikka's first distillery built in 1934. The founder Masataka Taketsuru chose the town of Yoichi in Hokkaido because of the similar environmental conditions to Scotland, where he learned whisky-making. In producing Yoichi's single malts, Nikka combines the best elements of Scottish Speyside and American bourbon-style whiskies know as 'rye' with traditional Japanese distilling methods to produce an authentic style that is nevertheless unmistakably Nikka.
Nikka Yoichi Single Malt Japanese Whisky boasts a long history as Japan’s first single malt whisky distillery. It is also the birthplace of Japan's award-winning Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky and has been undergoing continuous improvement ever since.
