El whisky escocés mezclado Dewar's tiene una larga historia que se remonta a 1846, cuando John Dewar se convirtió en uno de los primeros hombres en embotellar whisky escocés (mezclado) en botellas de vidrio para su venta minorista. En 1899, el hijo de John Dewar, John A. Dewar, presentó el nuevo producto estrella de la empresa, Dewar's White Label. El componente principal era la malta producida en la destilería de Aberfeldy, recién construida, en las Tierras Altas, cerca de Perthshire. Dewar's construyó la destilería para garantizar un suministro constante de malta para mezclar. El White Label de hoy todavía conserva la malta Aberfeldy como su "corazón" o componente principal de malta, y también contiene hasta 40 maltas y whiskies de grano más.
