How The Sassenach Is Made

Heughan developed The Sassenach in partnership with Michael Henry, Master Blender at Loch Lomond Distillery, carefully selecting single malts aged between roughly 9 and 20 years and blending them with a 20-year-old organic single grain whisky. The finished blend is then rested in casks that previously held Madeira wine, adding a distinct richness and rounded sweetness that sets it apart from more traditional blended Scotch. It's bottled at 46% ABV and has earned serious recognition, including three Double Gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, a Double Gold at the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition, and a Best in Class distinction.
