Originally conceived as an ultra-premium 30-year-old blend tailored for the burgeoning market in the Far East, a precious remainder was selected for further refinement. This exceptional whisky was then transferred into seven Spanish Hogshead casks previously seasoned with Oloroso sherry, where it embarked on its second maturation journey.

Nestled in a traditional warehouse in the Lowlands of Scotland, this whisky underwent an additional 20 years of aging, allowing it to develop even greater depth and character. Finally, in late 2015, The Last Drop proudly bottled this extraordinary creation, presenting enthusiasts with a whisky of unparalleled sophistication and richness, a testament to the enduring legacy of the Scotch whisky tradition.

TASTING NOTES

Spice. Passionfruit and pineapple. Coke bottle lollies again. The oak is still in perfect balance, and the whisky feels like it could have many years still to go. A few drops of water amps up the sherry (adding mocha/milk chocolate notes, and some leather), and tones down the fruitier notes. There’s the tiniest hint of smoke too. The finish is long, with milk chocolate, coffee and leather.
