This Director's Special release is an independently bottled Ben Nevis single malt distilled in 1996 and matured for 27 years in a single sherry butt. Elixir Distillers bottled it at natural cask strength without chill filtration or added color.
Stewed plum, dark chocolate, leather and spice lead the nose. Dried fig, tobacco, burnt orange and polished oak develop on the palate before a long, savory sherry-rich finish.
