Compass Box Ultramarine Scotch Whisky is the first release in the Extinct Blends Quartet, a project that reimagines influential blended Scotch styles from the past. Inspired by a deluxe blend associated with the late 1980s and early 1990s, Ultramarine combines mature malt and grain whiskies to emphasize old-style sherry richness, waxy texture and restrained peat.

Tasting Notes

Toffee, polished oak and layered smoke lead into roasted pecan, raisins and warming spice. The palate balances grain-whisky silkiness with sherry-cask depth and an ethereal peat character rather than heavy Islay smoke.

How to Serve and Pair

Serve neat in a tulip-shaped glass, adding a few drops of water after the first taste. Pair with smoked almonds, aged Gouda, roast duck, fruitcake or dark chocolate.
