Erstwhile Turkey Mole Negro Pechuga 2023 Limited Edition is a small-format, triple-distilled pechuga mezcal created by mezcaleros Epifania Gómez Mejía and Silverio García Luis. This 375ml seasonal release brings Oaxacan distilling tradition together with turkey, mole negro, sweet potato, cranberry and warming spices.
Tasting Notes
Roasted cacao, chile warmth, smoke and savory richness meet softer fruit and spice notes. It is a deliberately unconventional mezcal, with the pechuga ingredients adding aromatic complexity rather than turning the spirit into a sweet liqueur.
How to Serve and Pair
Serve neat in a copita at room temperature. Take small sips and let the mezcal open in the glass. Its mole and savory notes pair naturally with roast turkey, tamales, mole dishes, roasted squash and bittersweet chocolate.
