Nikka Coffey Vodka

Product Description

Nikka Coffey Vodka: A Vodka Built on Whisky-Making Heritage

Nikka Coffey Vodka pays tribute to a piece of genuine distilling history: the two Coffey stills Nikka imported from Scotland in 1963, named after their inventor Aeneas Coffey. Those same continuous stills produce Nikka's signature Coffey Grain and Coffey Malt whiskies, and in 2017 the brand extended that same distillate into a dedicated gin and vodka line to further showcase what the Coffey stills can do. It's a rare approach for vodka, most modern vodkas rely on column stills built purely for neutrality, while Nikka's Coffey stills yield a distillate with noticeably more texture and character.

How Nikka Coffey Vodka Is Made

This vodka is distilled from corn at Nikka's Miyagikyo distillery near Sendai, using the same Coffey stills responsible for the brand's grain whisky. After distillation, the spirit is carefully blended and refined through white birch charcoal filtration, a process that preserves the vodka's delicate flavor rather than stripping it down to neutrality. It's bottled at 40% ABV, and has been recognized with the Best Japanese Varietal Trophy at the 2020 World Vodka Awards.

Tasting Notes
