Product Description
Mijenta Cristalino: Reimagining What Cristalino Can Be
Mijenta Cristalino was born from Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero Mena's passion for exploring the sensory possibilities of tequila, developed through extensive experimentation with custom Symphony Barrels. Produced at Casa Tequilera de Arandas in the highlands of Jalisco, this expression delivers the depth and richness typically associated with an añejo, packaged in a brilliantly clear spirit that refuses to compromise on complexity. Like every Mijenta release, it's additive-free and presented in fully eco-friendly packaging.
How Mijenta Cristalino Is Made
This tequila is matured for approximately eight months in custom Symphony Barrels, built with American oak staves sourced from forests across Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, each reflecting a different terroir. After maturation, the aged tequila is carefully filtered through activated charcoal to strip away color while preserving the barrel-derived depth built during aging, a process that requires genuine precision to execute well. It's bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Crystal clear, bright, and transparent, with a powerful body.
Nose: A bouquet of sweet and silky flavors, with enduring notes of coconut, vanilla, maple, chocolate, coffee, and cooked agave.
Palate: Complex notes of maple, caramel, coffee, coconut, toffee, fruity citrus and honey, and cooked agave.
Food Pairings
The maple and toffee character in Mijenta Cristalino pairs well with a pecan tart, dark chocolate, or roasted pineapple. Its coffee and coconut notes also complement flan or a spiced tres leches cake.
Serving Suggestions
Mijenta Cristalino is excellent sipped neat, letting its layered maple and coffee character fully unfold. Its clarity and depth also make it a standout base for a tequila martini or an elevated Tommy's Margarita.
