Each bottle features imagery that honors Moore’s heritage, including a racehorse on the label, paying tribute to his early whiskey brand, Belle of Nelson. Named after the thoroughbred who won the Kentucky Oaks in 1878, this detail underscores Moore’s deep connection to the world of racing and bourbon.

Crafted by Barton 1792 Distillery, this bourbon begins with their high-rye recipe, aged for five to six years in new charred oak barrels to develop its foundational character. After this initial aging, the bourbon is transferred to Merlot casks, which previously held various wines or spirits from around the world. The additional maturation in these Merlot casks, lasting between one to four years, imparts a distinctive complexity and refinement to the bourbon.

The Merlot cask finish enhances the bourbon with nuanced flavors that blend seamlessly with the high-rye base, offering a refined and layered drinking experience that reflects the storied tradition of Thomas S. Moore and Barton 1792 Distillery.
