Mark & Digger’s Mountain Legacy Corn Whiskey is an unaged, 120 proof (60% ABV) corn whiskey, an homage to the classic homemade spirits that once thrived in secret all over Appalachia. It’s made by Sugarlands Distilling Company in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, in collaboration with Mark Ramsey and Eric “Digger” Manes, the stars of Discovery’s hit series Moonshiners. Using a traditional mash bill and corn sourced from Tennessee, the pair worked from a recipe they’ve perfected for years. Ramsey says they learned the art of whiskey-making from scores of old backwoods liquor producers.

It launched January 26, 2024, with a release at Sugarlands’ Gatlinburg distillery, and it’s the third product Sugarlands has made with Ramsey and Manes, after Mark & Digger’s Rye Apple Moonshine (2015) and Hazelnut Rum (2017). Mountain Legacy is bottled unaged and comes in a 750ml jar, in the tradition of the mountain shine it honors. It’s bold and high-proof, with the sweet corn character you’d expect from a traditional recipe.
