Basil Hayden Subtle Smoke Bourbon Whiskey

A lighter version of Basil Hayden, Subtle Smoke is distilled in the same high-rye mash bill that's loved by bourbon aficionados. To develop its unique flavor, we use a secondary aging process that includes smoking the barrel with hickory-smoked chips to create a unique, subtle smokiness. It's perfectly balanced with notes of soft char and light butterscotch, delivering an approachable introduction to both bourbon and Basil Hayden.

Our Distiller's Reserve, Subtle Smoke, is a twist on the classic Hayden recipe with a few extra steps. We begin by toasting and lightly charring the secondary barrel. This is followed by delicately igniting hickory-smoked chips at a constant feed to produce smoke. Next, we pump smoke into the barrel for an additional week of aging. By incorporating this subtle note of smokiness into our bourbon, we've created an exceptional bourbon that offers a smoother, more subtle take on smoky spirits and is perfect for sipping neat or in your favorite cocktail.
