Dan Aykroyd and artist John Alexander conceived Crystal Head Vodka together in 2008, born from a shared fascination with the legend of the thirteen crystal skulls and Aykroyd's desire to create a genuinely additive-free vodka. Alexander himself designed the now-iconic skull-shaped bottle, an exact rendering of a human skull that's become instantly recognizable on shelves around the world. This Artist Series release marks the first time Crystal Head has put Alexander's own artwork directly onto that bottle he originally designed, a fitting tribute from the brand's earliest creative roots.

The bottle celebrates Alexander's 1988 oil painting "Dancing on the Waterlilies of Life," currently on display in the Dallas Museum of Art, chosen from a body of work exhibited in major institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. The decoration process took three years to perfect, hand-applied at a small artisanal workshop in Milan, Italy, with each bottle individually numbered to emphasize its genuine scarcity.
