Mijenta Blanco Tequila

Product Description

Mijenta Blanco: Sustainable Craft from the Highlands of Jalisco

Mijenta Blanco Tequila is an award-winning, sustainable tequila crafted by Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero Mena in the highlands of Jalisco. Founded in 2020 by Romero alongside Mike Dolan, Juan Coronado, and Elise Som, Mijenta is produced at a fully carbon-neutral facility and holds the distinction of being the first B Corp certified tequila brand. Agave is grown in mineral-rich red clay soil, and the brand's sustainability commitment extends all the way to the bottle labels, made using repurposed agave waste.

How Mijenta Blanco Is Made

Made with only 100% fully mature Blue Weber agave, water, and yeast, this tequila is slow-cooked, fermented, and double distilled in traditional pot stills, then bottled without filtration to preserve its full character. That meticulous, unfiltered approach gives Mijenta Blanco a distinctly rich profile compared to many standard blancos. It's bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Bright and transparent with a powerful body.

Nose: Intense aromas of cooked agave, vanilla, and caramel, enhanced by the slow cooking process, with floral and fruity notes of cantaloupe and peaches.

Palate: Rich flavors of cooked agave, vanilla, fresh fruit, and spices such as cinnamon.

Food Pairings

The cantaloupe and vanilla character in Mijenta Blanco pairs beautifully with fresh ceviche, grilled shrimp, or a light melon salad. Its cinnamon and fruit notes also complement a citrus-glazed chicken dish.

Serving Suggestions

Mijenta Blanco is best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail such as a Margarita or Paloma. Its floral honey notes play especially well against fresh grapefruit in a Paloma, or against lime in a Tommy's Margarita.
