Bull Run Straight Bourbon Whiskey comes from Bull Run Distillery in Portland, Oregon, founded by Lee Medoff, one of the founding members and first president of the Oregon Distillers Guild, America's first craft distillers guild. Before launching Bull Run, Medoff helped build House Spirits Distillery and co-created both Medoyeff Vodka and Aviation Gin. Bull Run Straight Bourbon earned a Gold Medal at the 2012 American Distilling Institute Spirits Competition.

How Bull Run Straight Bourbon Is Made

This bourbon is made from a mash bill of 65% corn, 25% rye, and 10% malted barley, aged a minimum of four years, with some barrels resting as long as five, in 53-gallon charred American oak barrels. Medoff hand-selects fewer than a dozen barrels to blend together, then brings the bourbon to proof using water from the Bull Run Watershed, widely considered one of the purest raw water sources in North America. That water is credited with giving the finished bourbon its notably soft, supple mouthfeel. It's bottled at 90 proof.
