Kōloa Kaua'i Gold begins with pristine rainwater from Mount Wai'ale'ale and nearby peaks, filtered naturally through volcanic strata before reaching vast underground aquifers, then combined with "tall cane" pure cane sugar for a rum that captures the true taste of the Hawaiian islands.

The rum is distilled twice in a vintage 1,210-gallon steam-powered copper pot still, complete with a copper column and condenser made in Kentucky back in 1947, then bottled unaged rather than rested in oak barrels. Its warm golden color comes from caramelized sugar blended in before bottling, the same pale crystallized sugar used as the base for Kōloa's entire rum lineup, giving the spirit its rich hue and adding a subtle molasses aroma without any barrel aging involved.
