1881年冬，艾伯特·培根·布兰顿出生于波本威士忌历史上最早的家族之一。16岁时，他开始在酒厂做办公室助理，并迅速成为波本威士忌发展领域的先驱人物。从1921年担任公司总裁到1952年退休，布兰顿上校领导的酒厂从44座厂房扩建至144座，成为当时规模最大的酒厂。在此期间，布兰顿上校精心挑选并储存在如今著名的H号仓库中，打造了他独具特色且限量供应的波本威士忌——他的私人珍藏。尽管布兰顿上校于1959年春季去世，但他留下的宝贵遗产却流传至今。1984年，以布兰顿命名的波本威士忌问世，成为首款商业销售的单一桶波本威士忌。这款单一桶波本威士忌堪称同类产品中的首创。
