Barrel Strength grew out of a simple conversation at Bull Run Distillery on the merits of high proof, cask strength whiskey, and the freedom to temper one's whiskey oneself, with water, with ice, or not at all. That conversation became this bourbon, the uncut, undiluted "big brother" to Bull Run's award-winning yellow-label Straight Bourbon. Pulled from select barrels and bottled directly at cask strength with no dilution, Barrel Strength magnifies the barrel-driven flavors already inherent in Bull Run's high-rye recipe.

Founded in Portland, Oregon by Lee Medoff, a professional distiller since 1998 and co-founder of House Spirits Distillery before starting Bull Run in 2010, the distillery built its reputation on genuinely unique barrel-finished whiskeys crafted with pure water from the Bull Run Watershed. This bourbon is made from a high-rye mash bill of 65% corn, 25% rye, and 10% malted barley, aged a minimum of 6 years in new charred American oak.
