El whisky escocés Balvenie Doublewood Single Malt es un whisky de pura malta de 12 años que adquiere su carácter distintivo al madurar en dos maderas. Durante su período de maduración, The Balvenie Doublewood se transfiere de una barrica de whisky de roble tradicional a una barrica de jerez de roble español de primer llenado. Cada etapa aporta diferentes cualidades al single malt resultante: las barricas tradicionales, que anteriormente contenían bourbon, suavizan y añaden carácter, mientras que la madera de jerez aporta profundidad y plenitud de sabor.
