Vaca Das Cordas Vigno Verde

Vaca das Cordas is a tradition that dates back to 1646 and takes place on the eve of the feast of Corpus Christi in the historic village of Ponte de Lima – the oldest town in Portugal. On the ninth Friday after Easter, this tradition that dates back to Roman times and has Phoenician origins features a bull-running in which young men lead a bull through the town. The vineyards lie in the sub-region of Lima, one of the nine sub-regions of the Demarcated Region of Vinho Verde Wines which, due to the natural characteristics of the soil and climate and the varieties grown, produce wines that are distinctly fruit forward.
