Templeton Rye 6 Year Aged Whiskey
Templeton Rye 6 Year Aged Whiskey is finally here. The small town bottling company from Templeton, Iowa offers a premium Rye Whiskey that made its way from Chicago to San Francisco. It’s got a hint of mint and pine along with the smoothness of butterscotch and fragrant allspice. It’s a warm hug on a cold day.
The western Iowa whiskey company is releasing a new rye whiskey aged in oak barrels for six years. Templeton Rye 6 Year Old will be available in stores in Iowa and Illinois in the next few weeks, company co-founder Keith Kerkhoff told The Des Mones Register on Monday.
The 6-year-old rye is made from the same recipe as Templeton’s standard rye whiskey but is aged two years longer and has a higher alcohol content: 45.75 percent, compared with 40 percent.
