Cutrer Sonoma Estate Chardonnay
Planted on what was once an ocean floor, The Cutrer Vineyard stands hardly a dozen miles from the Pacific shore. Featuring sandy hillside soils that rise nearly 300 feet above sea level, the vineyard is carefully watched over. Judicious crop thinning, high-density spacing, and a wide variety of rootstocks ensure a balanced, fully developed wine with great concentration and an exquisitely rich yellow-gold hue flecked with green. Intense aromas of ripe apple are dotted with cinnamon and clove, as hazelnuts bathed in cream join fragrant notes of acacia blossoms. In the mouth, the wine is dense and concentrated, while simultaneously offering a softer, sensual side in balance. Flavors of baked apple appear alongside glazed pineapple and fresh tangerine, as a hint of clove entertains the taste buds. With its perfect backbone of acidity, the wine is fresh, alive and begging to be enjoyed again and again.
