Russell's Reserve 10, a Kentucky Straight created in small batches from deeply charred casks stored for ten years in the middle of the rickhouse.
The color is glowing amber, the nose is vanilla and toffee, which unfold into Maraschino cherry and marzipan as it breathes. The palate is oh, so smooth. Toffee, spice and vanilla upfront. Savor for a moment and let it roll silkily around on your tongue, as orange peel zest, toasted corn and rye flavors enrich the experience as it becomes dry leather and sweet cocoa in mid palate. The finish is spicy at first, then mellowing out to a pleasing and subtle sweetness.
Sipped neat, on the rocks, or used to make cocktails, this is a bourbon for your liquor cabinet.
