Rhiannon' Red Wine
The Rhiannon is fairly intense on the nose with plenty of red fruits, raspberries and red currants, over a base of smoky, toasty, lead pencil oak. A pleasant surprise on the palate with a bright, transparent light mouth feel. There's a fair amount of oak, lightly toasty and adding plenty of vanilla to the palate, but at the same time this does show nice red berry fruit and red plum skin flavors. The tannins are relatively unobtrusive on the palate, with a juicy acidity, but the mocha tinged finish highlights a little wood tannin, as the fruit lacks some persistence.
