Orphan Barrel Forged Oak 15 Year Bourbon
The Orphan Barrel Whiskey Company like nothing better than to root around, delving into the long forgotten and dark recesses in rick houses which belong to some of the great American whiskey distilleries. Blowing away the accumulated dust, they discover for us, some of the most rare whiskey which might otherwise never be released.
Hidden away in a Stitzel-Weller rick house they found some charred American white oak barrels that had been quietly sitting, aging to sumptuous perfection for 15 long years. These forgotten barrels contained some extraordinary Kentucky Straight Bourbon which they took back and hand bottled in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
Precious and rare, Orphan Forged Oak has deep woody aromas. Maple and Cedar are wrapped with sultry fragrant vanilla bean. The taste experience is of long-seasoned oak, dark cocoa and fresh berries. The crescendo at the finish is long and dry, black pepper tingling on the tongue.
