Mazzoni Rosso di Toscana
Mazzoni Rosso di Toscana is a bottled double wedding - The marriage of two important estate grown grape varietals; Sangiovese and Merlot, by two highly acclaimed winemakers; Franceshi from Italy and Telato from the USA.
A ruby red super-Tuscan, this beautiful Rosso has been handcrafted in a state-of-the-art winery where after temperature controlled fermentation it is split in two halfs.. Each then spends 12 months aging in French oak barrels; one half decanted into large barrels and the other poured into second vintage barriques.
You can’t help but delight in it as you swirl it around the glass enjoying its intense and abundant aromas. Rich with red berry fruits, dark ripe plums and blackberries. You will discern a slightly balsamic note too along with sweet spices, like liquorice.
The mouth-feel is soft and warm, wrapping around you with its intense fruit flavors and you can taste the barrel aging. The flavors are well balanced and more-ish, begging another glass. The finish is lingering, smooth, rich and velvety.
Live like an Italian! Why not enjoy it with pasta coated in rich meat sauce, with beef steak or with a heart thick soup.
