Glenfiddich Fire & Cane Experimental Single Malt Scotch
Glenfiddich Fire & Cane is a unique Scotch, crafted by marrying peated whisky and malts matured in bourbon barrels, and then finishing in Latin rum casks to create an exquisite whisky with campfire smokiness and toffee sweetness.
Kinsman at Glenfiddich had the brilliant idea of finishing the married whisky in Latin rum casks—sourced from a number of South American countries—for three months. In the end, he got a peated 43% ABV Scotch that comes in at 5 ppm (phenol parts per million)—quite good work for a distillery that doesn’t typically make smoky Scotches.
