Firestone Double DBA 2014
Firestone Double DBA is an amazing brew. The vintage is outstanding, and for that reason it will be going away on a high note. Yup you read it correct, going away, Firestone has decided to stop producing the Double DBA, and create a different brew. The new Firestone for next year has not yet been named, so we have no idea as of yet what it will be. The truth is that the Double DBA never caught on like the others did, so for that reason it's out.
Firestone Walker Double DBA is the brewery’s imperial special bitter, brewed double strength, then fermented in American oak barrels. After fermentation the beer is racked in American bourbon barrels and aged for one year. The barrel mix for the 2014 Double DBA included barrels from Woodford Reserve, Elijah Craig and Four Roses. This July is the last offering of this beer.
“The 2014 Double DBA is a big and complex beer that still offers the balance and drinkability that are the hallmarks of DBA,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson.
