Berentzen Pear Liqueur
Since 1758, when Johann Benentzen founded his company in Haselhünne, Lower Saxony, Germany the company have been producing some of the finest distilled liqueurs.
Throughout the years they have continued to build their business, the company surviving WW2 and is not amongst the top three brands in Germany and has expanded widely, present internationally in almost 50 countries.
Their continuing success over the centuries is testimony to the care taken in creation and their passion for their craft.
Joining other Berentzen Liqueur's is Berentzen Pear Liqueur, made from specially selected green pears, chosen for their crisp and fresh unmistakably pear taste. Ripened in the sun, the pears have been fermented and distilled with crisp clear local waters to produce a smooth, light and sweet liqueur that awakens and refreshes the mouth as if you have just taken a bite from the freshly plucked fruit. The finish is clean and the pear taste remains a while, succulent and rather more-ish.
Superb for cocktails Berentzen Pear Liqueur puts an amazing new slant on the classic Cosmopolitan or Sidecar.
To make your Pear Sidecar you will need:
- ½ oz Berentzen Pear Liqueur
- 1oz. Cognac such as De Fussigny or Grand Marnier
- Splash of lemon juice.
- 1 lemon slide, wedge or twist of zest for garnish.
- Crushed Ice
Fill cocktail shaker with crushed ice, then add the Berentzen Pear Liqueur, Cognac and lemon juice before shaking well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish.
