Award winning Limited Grunion American Pale Ale is set to be part of your own Grunion run, and is available right now.
Unlike the Grunion from which it takes its name, it was not born on a beach at high tide, but right here in a back yards in San Diego, the result of an employee only home brew contest run by local Brewer and Distiller Ballast Point .
Grunion APA is hoppy, reminiscent of those fish who flip up onto the shore, and makes great use of new American Mosaic and Calypso hops which are punchy with aromas of summer salad fruits, sweet ripe melon and pineapple, mango and soft citrus grapefruit with basil, cherry blossoms and spruce.
The palate is rich with all that is hinted at in the outstanding hop filled nose, the fruit and herbal flavors, blend with soft caramel-like malty sweetness, a delightful bitterness, and an underlying nutty malt base which play on the tongue.
This deep golden-amber brew would pair well with creamy pesto pasta, tropical fruit filled crepes, or mild yellow shrimp curry. This six pack has ample to share and try with all three!
