Laws Whiskey House
Laws San Luis Valley Straight Rye
The Laws San Luis Valley Straight Rye is crafted with a mash bill consisting of 95% heirloom rye and 5% heirloom barley. Aged for a minimum of three years in new 53-gallon charred oak barrels, this exceptional rye whiskey is born at an elevation of 7,400 feet above sea level in Colorado's pristine San Luis Valley on the Cody Family farm. Since the 1930s, the farm has been cultivating this low-yield, semi-wild rye grain, imbuing it with a unique and individual character. Utilizing a traditional and labor-intensive distilling technique, we bring out the grain's distinctive qualities, while our open-air, on-grain sour mash process adds soulful complexity to the whiskey. Aged in our rarified thin air, this rye whiskey boasts a luxurious texture and generous perfume that truly sets it apart.
